At the ripe young age of 13 I was doubled over in back pain daily. Stress fractures in my lumbar 4 and 5 vertebrae threatened my ability to twirl and fly across the floor in ballet. After months of chiropractic adjustments, massage and serious core workouts I was able to continue dancing without further damage. But, the pain never disappeared. I was content with the chronic dull ache and sharp knifing pains after a long day of rehearsal. I was determined to dance no matter the cost to my joint longevity. That is, until college rocked my world.
