Someone I know—a friend of a friend, really—is having a problem with the man in her life. She’s a member of an online discussion forum I belong to, and I could tell from her posts to others that she was probably getting abused, and it was probably physical, from the sound of it. She basically ran away with her child, from what I can tell.

I sent her a message, privately, just to let her know I care and understand, and if she needs someone to talk to, I’d be there.

She confirmed my suspicions about abuse of some kind, and I wished her the best in making things better for herself and her young child.

She’s smart, no doubt about it. I’m impressed with some of her comments on the forum, and I’m looking forward to getting to know... More...
